Privacy policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
This policy explains what MNGOS ("MNGO", "we") collects when you use MNGO, why, and the choices you have. It applies to people in Canada, the United States and elsewhere.
What MNGO does with your information
MNGO helps you see your subscriptions, bills and loans. To do that it needs your email address for your account and the transactions from the bank statements you choose to import.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never see the password itself), and when you agreed to these terms.
- Transactions you import: date, description and amount of each transaction, the account names you choose, and the payments you track. Statement files are read on your iPhone; the files themselves are never uploaded.
- Reminders (if you turn them on): a delivery address for notifications on that device, your time zone and how many days ahead you want to be reminded. Turning reminders off or signing out removes it.
- Feedback you send: your message, the kind of feedback and which screen you were on, linked to your account so we can reply.
- Preferences on your device: things like your currency, country and bank choice, kept in the app on your device.
MNGO never asks for your online banking username or password, and doesn't connect to your bank.
Anonymous totals we look at
To understand how MNGO is used, we look at totals across all users: how many people have signed up, how many used MNGO this week or month, the average and median monthly amount people track, and which well-known services (like Netflix or Spotify) are tracked most. These figures are calculated inside the database and only shown when at least 5 people are in a group. They never include your name, email, individual transactions, or anything you typed yourself.
How we use it
Only to run MNGO for you: to show your calendar, find recurring payments, keep your data in sync across your devices, and improve MNGO using the anonymous totals above. We don't sell your information, show ads, or share it with data brokers.
Storage on your device and cookies
The MNGO app keeps storage on your device only for things it needs to work: keeping you signed in, your data on this device, and your preferences. Nothing in it tracks you. The MNGO website is a marketing page and doesn't use cookies, so there's no cookie banner.
Services we rely on
- Supabase stores accounts and data, in [region, e.g. Canada (Central) or US East].
- Cloudflare hosts the marketing website (Cloudflare Pages) and runs its domain name (DNS).
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs deliver fonts and code libraries. The website and the app connect to them, so they see your IP address, but not your data.
- Apple's push notification service (if you turn on reminders) delivers notifications to your iPhone. It receives the notification text (payment name, amount and date) in order to deliver it.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (if switched on, website only) counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (if switched on) checks that log-ins come from people, not bots.
- logo.dev (if switched on) supplies some brand logos. The app asks it for logos of the services you track, which shares those brand names and your IP address with it.
Some of these providers may process data outside your province or country, including in the United States.
Where it's stored and who can see it
Your data is encrypted in storage and in transit. Access rules mean a signed-in person can only read their own data through MNGO, and other users never see it. The people who operate MNGO can technically access the database to keep the service running and will only do so to fix a problem or when the law requires it.
Keeping or deleting it
We keep your data while your account is open. In the app, Erase all data deletes everything you've imported, and Delete my account deletes your account and all its data right away. You can also email mngos.app@gmail.com and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Age
MNGO is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing mngos.app@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, or US state laws such as California's CCPA), you may have further rights, and you can complain to your privacy regulator, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada[ or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec].
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll show a notice in the app before the change applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
